Paramore Live in Kuala Lumpur Presented by Tune Talk Mobile Prepaid

Oh yes, besides the glamorous American Idol winner Adam Lambert, Paramore is ALSO coming to KL this October to rock you people!

Yours truly, also a pop punk band from America, is set to rock the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on October 19, 2010 from 8.30pm till late.

When I first heard of Paramore, I thought to myself that this band is gonna be just like any other pop punk band that will hit mainstreams with their one hit wonder. After all, one of their single from the Riot album was entitled ‘Crushcrushcrush’! Hahaha! Okay, lame joke. =.=

But I thought wrong.

When their third and current album Brand New Eyes hit stores worldwide, that’s when I started to take their music more openly. As much as I hate myself for doing so, I actually grew fond of the band. Their music is completely harmless. Although I think their target group of listeners would be a bunch of fifteen year-old kids in their brightly colored jeans learning the meaning of life, I think it’s fairly enjoyable by anyone who just wants to listen to some catchy, harmless pop-punk music.

And the front woman, Hayley Williams, she is the gem of this band. Yes, I affirm that she’s got a great singing voice. I can’t wait to see her sing live (oh i'm going?! hehehe), what more to see what she’d be wearing on that day! Her slim figure definitely compliments anything she dons! Ehh, or is it the other way around?? Heh.

So all you Paramore fans, don’t miss this chance to catch them LIVE this October! Ticket price is between RM98 to RM358 so start counting that duit raya, buy less junk food (just don’t starve), don’t bother the iPhone 4 and beg from mummy! LOL!

Paramore Live in Kuala Lumpur 2010 is made possible thanks to Tune Talk, the country’s fastest growing prepaid mobile service. Tickets are available at www.airasiaredtix.com and www.ticketpro.com.my, as well as over the counter at Rock Corner and TicketPro outlets.

Nuffnang Sharing Session

First of all, yeahh, Netherlands lost to Spain in the finals. I’m still mourning so please do not add insult. As a matter of fact, if Spain had lost, I would’ve congratulated them anyway in the name of spirits of the game. Why can’t you Spain hardcore idiots do the same too?

Moving on, last Friday I attended the Nuffnang Sharing Session at Pak Li Kopitiam in Setapak Indah. Although invites were sent out to 20 bloggers, less had turned up. YOU who did not turn up will be in “Naughty list” and will be banned from any invites FOREVERRRR!!!!

Okay that was an exaggeration. ;p

For those who do not have the slightest idea what a sharing session is, well, it’s a session where you share your foods with everyone in the kopitiam. LOL, NO! *although it is encouraged* It’s a session where you share your ideas and passion on blogging. Friday night’s guest blogger was Eyriqazz and he spoke about his passion in blogging and how he made some (if not much) money and friends through blogging.

I also had the chance to meet two nice individuals, Justin and Hana. Thanks for being such a great sport. I’m not a very chatty person in the beginning so it’s nice to have you both to come over and start a conversation with me. Haha..

Oh, since I had the Samsung Galaxy S phone with me, I can’t help it but to snap, snap and away! Here are some pictures I took (all except one are food-related pictures, LOL).

They definitely have some sense of humor!

Hainanese Chicken Chop - gravy taste like tomato paste :p

Nasi Ayam Lemon

Snowy Ice - Kacang Merah

Eyriqazz Sharing Session

Overall, the food was OK la. Hahaha.. But since they have wifi in the premise, I don’t mind sitting there a bit longer. I was updating Twitter and checking Facebook in between conversations with the bloggers. Hoho~

I wanted to take a video of Eyriqazz giving his thoughts and ideas on how to improve blog traffic but I reckon it was going to be a pretty massive file so I think the best way is; you guys can just head to his blog for more tips on blogging, okay? Haha!

But you know, tangan gatal, so must take at least one video that night and so here is Robb of NuffnangMY explaining about CPC and CPM campaigns for you NOOBS. LOL.

It's recorded on HD video format oh yeah and by the way, I still hate the noise from the surrounding due to poor audio quality. It’s like vuvuzela, annoying but you can’t do anything about it. Samsung better improve on the audio quality if they want the HD video feature to stand out as one of their selling features.

And then when everyone was about to take group photos, the phone battery died. Yeay. You doing great Galaxy S. 7 hours and you’re down??!! #$%^@&*!!!

I will grill the phone in another post. Sigh.

MTV World Stage 2010 anyone?

I missed the MTV World Stage last year because I was in Beijing. I pretty much thought that it would not return to Malaysia ever again. But what do you know! MTV World Stage 2010 will be happening right here in Malaysia on the 31st of July! This year’s line-up includes Bunkface, Tokio Hotel, Katy Perry and Wonder Girls. Not as interesting as last year but what the heck, I’m game for it!

And what’s more interesting is I have got my passes to MTV World Stage 2010.

So how did I get my passes?

I won it. LOL!

The passes will not be on sale, so you gotta win them through various methods. One way to win it is via the MTV Asia World Stage website.

The passes will be given out at different time slots daily on the website. The time slots will be announced on the countdown clock on the HOME page. When the countdown strikes zero, you need to spot these two icons: ‘Junior’ or ‘Bee’; which will appear randomly on the top or the bottom of the site during these specific time slots.

Spot either one of them: Junior (the naked toyol) or Bee.

If you spot the icon, click it and answer a simple question about MTV World Stage (or the artists performing) and submit your details. If you get the answer correctly, a verification email will be sent to you to verify your personal details. Then just verify it, and walaa, you’ve just won yourself a pair of passes to MTV World Stage 2010!

It seems like an easy task but it’s not! I only won the passes during my Nth attempt. ‘N’ because I don’t know how many times I’ve tried previously! Your chances are pretty much slim because Junior and Bee does not land on each and everyone’s page. If you search in Twitter using the hashtag #worldstagemy, you will be overwhelmed by the frustration and angst of aggravated fans. Some has been trying since Day 1 of the contest and still have not won.

So how could I have won the passes?

I admit, I just got LUCKY.

There’s pretty much nothing you could do to ensure you WILL win the passes because the icons (Junior and Bee) will randomly land on someone’s computer screen. All you could do is click on every link in the website and pray that Junior or Bee will land in YOUR page.

Contest ends July 17, 2010 so you still have plenty of time to get lucky on the game! Meanwhile, STOP BEING SO WHINY. You might just win if you loosen up a bit.

Break Free with DiGi party

I know, this post is way over due! But I can’t help going through a difficult phase as a blogger. I open my blog everyday feeling annoyed that I can’t think of any new post. Even if I have it drafted, my hands will itch and delete it soon after. Gaahh.. Can’t make up what’s wrong with me lately!

So yeahh, we had a DiGi party on the 29h of May at Ecoba, PJ Trade Centre. We were supposed to play dress-up but I didn’t. Apologies to Nuffnang and Digi for not adhering to the theme of Prisoners and Villains. Hehe. We were rushing from one place to another and we even thought that we were late for the Digi party. Turns out, we were among the earliest. LOL. If only I knew, I would have shopped for an outfit somewhere nearby!

During the party, we were expected to mingle around with the other bloggers who came. But because I was just so shy *haha* and embarrassed that I didn’t follow the party theme, I just sat at a corner with the boyfriend, enjoying drink and a casual chat. Sad case, I know. LOL.

We were also divided into teams for some activities. I was in the team Chicanos Burritos. In the first activity, everyone scattered at the park to find some missing lock codes to unlock our beloved emcee of the day, Miss Julie V.

One of my team members found 1 missing lock code. Unfortunately, another team found more than 1 lock codes, so they got the prize.

In the second activity, we were given three tasks via a Blackberry which we kind of ‘rented’ from the organizers with a certain amount of ‘deposit’. LOL. The three tasks were:

Come up with a team war cry using three keywords:
Freedom, RM68 and Smart Plan

Beg for mercy and ask for freedom

Perform a group prison dance
Guess who lead us on this? The boyfriend. LOL!

SURPRISINGLY, WE WON the second activity. We were such a laid back team, we were just having some fun, most of us didn’t even adhere to the party theme, didn’t even get to know each other closely, and WE WON. Haha. We got a really cool MAGLITE torchlight which I have bundled with my car key.

As promised by the organizers, two prizes were given away that night. Miss Debbeh won a HTC Legend for the best dressed. She did a great impersonation of Cruela DeVil from 101 Dalmation. Menjiwai watak aitelyu!

As for the best pre-event blog post, Jolyn won and walked away with a BlackBerry 9700!! T__T

In short, it was a great night. All you Chicanos Burritos dudes and babes, though it was a short meeting, it was a sweet one. See you all in the next event! LOL!

* Blog is now injected with Netherlands header in support of my favorite team since 1998. Go go Oranje!

Why Smartphones can be Dumbphones

Fancy reading about Bonnie and Clyde? Did you follow the news on Timothy McVeigh about his last few days before his lethal death sentence? Do you know the Dnepropetrovsk maniacs?

REAL LIFE CRIMINALS. Some dead. Some in prison cells. Some were set free.

And some were summon from the death.

Follow this real life account of a 16 year old girl named Emily who summoned the two most notorious criminals from the "Great Depression" era and what they think about smart phones.

Emily has since subscribe to DG Smart Plan at RM68 per month to prove her case that her phone is indeed a smartphone. Satisfied, Bonnie kidnapped and forced Shaolin Tiger to help her hack into several Facebook accounts to retrieve her victims address. She was about to murder her first victim (since death) when KYSpeaks came and offered her food. She was so tempted, she left her day job as a criminal to pursue her new career as the host of Jalan2 Cari Makan.

Clyde is now a part-time customer service executive at the Digi Centre. Once in awhile, his hand still itches, so you might wanna check your pocket if he comes near you. *winks*

Tokio Hotel

Woohoo people! It’s been awhile since I last updated this blog! I was quite busy since the past week. Plus, Falkor made us all very stressful. But, he is all OKAY now. :)

Anyway, here’s a quick update. On Labor Day, we went to the Tokio Hotel concert in Central Park Avenue. The crowd was big and VIOLENT. Haha. But lucky us, when we were just about to line up *cough, cough*, the gate beside us opened up as an alternative entry to the concert area. I believe we were among the first 100 people to get into the concert area.

Opening acts were Pop Shuvit and Bunkface. Awesome performance from two awesome bands. Somewhere along the way during Bunkface’s performance, the sound system went off but the band continued playing and singing. Some uneducated, childish, stupid and immature kids boo-ed. I find that rather, well, uneducated, childish, stupid and immature obviously. You can disagree with me and you can claim that you were just taunting the organizer but people, PEOPLE; HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR THE BAND ON STAGE. *rolls eyes*

Ohh, I also HATED all the songs that they were playing in between the bands. Can you believe that while waiting for the next band to set up the stage, the organizers played songs from Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber?? I mean, yeah I admit I like them both *gulp*, but does anyone even notice that we are at Tokio Hotel’s concert???

So anyway, Tokio Hotel came on stage and played a few songs. Not much interaction with the crowd BUT it’s all good. I know most of their songs but I don’t really know the lyrics. I was hoping they would play Monsoon and they did at the very end of the concert. But how unfortunate, they sang it in German so yeah, I was lost again. Haha.

I didn’t take any picture myself but here’s some from a friend. Credits to Azza.

Ok cao!

* So many movie reviews pending! =.=

Gatsby Deodorant Street Fair

For those who had missed all the fun (yes, you have), more than 500 bloggers participated in the Gatsby Deodorant Street Fair in Times Square, KL on Saturday, 17th of April to be part of the “Largest Gathering of Bloggers”. And since this is the first largest blogger gathering in Malaysia, we made it into the Malaysia Book of Records! Yeayy to all!

That’s not all coz we had FUN bebeh! There were just so many interesting games to play like shooting cans, snake & ladder, gladiator battle, rodeo, inflatable wall climbing, coconut bowling, dart throwing, and mini basketball. Ok, I may have made up all the names, BUT that is, among others, what we played!

We manage to play ALL the games and some played for several times! Haha. The boyfriend and I fought in the gladiator ‘battle field’. We both agreed that we should whack the hell out of each other and NO MERCY whatsoever. But I didn’t know I should not hit the face coz I was doing that most of the time. LOL. But I fell first anyway! Dang.

And what d’ya know, the organizers were just SO AWESOME AND GENEROUS, that for every game we played, we can collect points and redeem Gatsby products with the points accumulated!

Below are some, I repeat, SOME of the Gatsby products that we redeemed with the points. So damn generous of Gatsby wei!

There were lucky draw as well. But I wasn’t expecting anything *lie* coz I’ve never been LUCKY with lucky draws. LOL. But I had a great time, hanging out with my besties, met some bloggers and all.

A big round of applause to Nuffnang and Gatsby for making this happen and HAPPENING! LOL!

Picture credits to the boyfriend. Huh.

*Grammar still like tongkang pecah and I refuse to proofread! =.=

Be among the first to try iTalkWhoa!

Psstt. As I promised on Friday, I’m gonna tell you WHAT is iTalkWhoa and HOW you can stay connected with your friends abroad with minimal charges on calls and SMS. Plus, you can also send e-mails, SMS, check your friend’s Facebook and Twitter updates and even read your favorite news! You can do all that in just ONE portal without the hassle of logging into several websites.

Sounds interesting? You bet it is! Be among the first to explore this portal --> iTalkWhoa.com*

I was lucky to be the first few who found out about this portal and as one of the early birds; I received FREE RM 5 iTalk prepaid! Since there isn’t much hoo-haa on iTalk Whoa yet, I suggest you sign up NOW as I heard that the FREE prepaid will be given to the first 8000 users!

Some of the interesting features of iTalk Whoa and I would say useful to many of us are as below:

iTalk Whoa Mail
Once you sign up to iTalk Whoa, you will get your own e-mail address that ends with @italkwhoa.com. Cool! It also allows me to integrate my Yahoomail, Gmail or MSN into one webmail server, and I did configure one in my ‘Settings’. This application also has push capability so you can push your emails to your mobile phone!

Voice Call
This is also a web platform to use your iTalk prepaid and make calls! Local calls are charged at 10sen (fixed line) and 15sen (mobile) per minute.

Try calling the number on the screen if you dare.

You can make international calls to fixed and mobile line too. I know quite a number of Malaysian studying in Indonesia so this is pretty useful for mums and dads, boyfriends and girlfriends. Calls to Indonesia are charged at 26sen (fixed) and 33sen (mobile) per minute. Some international calls are dirt cheap! Call Singapore, Australia, USA and China at 5sen per minute! Oh man. Why didn’t this exist when I went to China last year?! I could have saved ALL MY MISERY of missing home and the boyfriend! T__T

Web SMS
Yep, you can send SMS to any phone (local mobile/international mobile/fixed sms). The charges are cheap too! AGAIN, WHY DIDN'T THIS EXIST WHEN I WENT TO CHINA LAST YEAR??!!!!

Twitter
Just using this ONE portal, you can check your mail, make call to your loved one, send an SMS to a friend, and TWEET for the world to see!

Instant Messaging
Yep, you can log in to your Yahoo Messenger, GTalk, MSN, and many more via this portal. I’ve logged in to my YM and tried chatting with some friends. Got to improve on the interface though. It looks plain and dull. Huhu.

CikPin learns some vulgar words for her daily curse.

Above are just some of its features. Takkan you want me to spoon-feed everything kan? So hurry while you can still register and receive your FREE iTalk prepaid! Registration is free. You just need to verify your ID and you’re all set to try out this new portal!

Once you have tried the platform, send me your feedbacks as I might send some of my own feedbacks to the developers too. I am somewhat skeptical about the things it said it can do and I will send them up for a challenge or two! Cewahh!

Ok lah, let’s bombard the iTalkWhoa.com now!

*iTalkWhoa.com is most compatible with Internet Explorer 6 and above.

Where is the freaking blogging mood??!!!

I was at Borneo Rainforest on Wednesday night. I was there to attend a compulsory event but lucky me two parties happened at the same venue, only at different times!

The first party was to celebrate the launch of TM’s new product, the iTalkWhoa. Guess what I got in the goodie bag? A brand new headphone with mic attached!

As usual, almost any TM event will see Bunkface coming on stage and perform a few songs. They were simply awesome! You could feel the energy and vibe that they have on stage. Not because I’m a fan, but these guys don’t come on stage unprepared. They ALWAYS look prepared. They know what to say, they know what event it is, they know who to greet, they were just awesome, okay?

Ailapiu bangpes!

After the iTalkWhoa party ended, we hung around until the FlyFM Champur Chart Goes Live took over the club. Performing on stage were Tilu, Law and Meet Uncle Hussein with their new vocalist Hazama; also featuring Black MENTOR. I really, really HATE to admit this but Black does sound good during the live performance. Oh man, how much I despise that poor guy before! LOL.

You might have notice by now that this entry title and the content do not relate at all. Oh well, the mood to blog has not come back and I can’t explain it! Don't bother the grammar. Was not even bothered to check. Some of you might even wonder what is this iTalkWhoa that I just ranted about. Will tell you soon. How soon is soon? Next Monday, okay?

Hot Air Balloon

Kinda late to post this up but I just want to capture these moments in my blog. I was there on Saturday evening. Damn jealous looking at those VVIPs and media photographers getting the chance to go on a free fly. I should do more networking from now on. LOL.

So yeahh, here goes nothing.

Free fly session

Tethered hot air balloons
