I suppose I am a month late to post a review? Huhu. I know I’ve been procrastinating a lot lately but I just can’t help feeling a little annoyed at some my blog.
So anyway, this movie is loosely based on a book by the same name. The story is about a Viking teenage boy named Hiccup and his struggle to prove to his dad that he could face the Viking’s tradition of becoming a dragon slayer. But when he finally captures his first dragon, he finds that he is incapable of slaying the dragon. Instead, he developed a desire to get to know the dragon, befriend it and tame it.
From Toothless (the name given to the dragon), Hiccup learns how to train dragons. When he no longer has the desire to kill dragons, he earned the rights to kill a dragon as a sacrament of the Viking’s tradition. What happens next was so fun to watch; I could watch it again!
Some flying scenes reminded me of the movie Avatar, but apart from that, every other scene was just so amazing and captivating. I hate to think that I can’t think of any critical comments for this movie but yeahh, I have NONE. How the plots continued, I couldn’t have figured out unless I have read the book before. Nonetheless, it didn’t carry any ‘heavy’ scenes that you have to put on your thinking cap. It was simply relaxing, elevating and heartening.
As a matter of fact, I personally thought that I could feel the chemistry between Hiccup and Toothless. They were just so affectionate towards each other. Hiccup is just like any other boy who would always try to prove themselves worthy to an adult. Toothless is just a cute and awesome dragon to watch!
Okay, maybe it’s a little too late to say this but this is a fun, enjoyable and light-weighted movie suitable for anyone with a BIG HEART!
* I don’t think I will review Toy Story 1&2 in 3D because 1) the movie is nothing new, 2) the 3D version doesn’t look any much different from 2D so WTH and 3) I fell asleep during the movie. And yessss, this is my first time falling asleep during a movie. O_o
* Watching Robin Hood tonight!
